•Under Section 7(i), court fee is payable on the total amount claimed, including pre-suit interest up to the date of filing.
•Post-suit pendente-lite and future interest are not included in the initial court fee valuation base.
Governing Legal Principles under Court Fees Act
Sec 7(i): Money Claims
Computed on total principal + pre-suit interest under Schedule I, Article 1 progressive ad-valorem sliding scale.
Sec 7(vi-A): Partition
Fixed ₹500 fee if in joint possession; ad-valorem fee strictly on plaintiff's fractional share value if excluded from possession.
Sec 7(iv-A): Cancellation
In suits for cancellation of instruments securing property, ad-valorem fee is payable on the full property market value.
Sec 7(iv-B): Injunctions
Suits for permanent or mandatory injunctions are valued according to the relief sought under UP Section 7(iv-B).
